Over the Summer I did an internship with Get Fact, Canadian fact-checking and media startup founded by veteran journalists Kevin Newman and Wilf Dennick. It was focused on making trustworthy information engaging for younger audiences through interactive content, short-form videos and it's AI fact-checker “Laura.”
During my internship, I contributed to developing and producing creative digital content across platforms. I scripted, shot and edited different social media reels, wrote media content and assisted with early demos of the AI fact-checker.
I also brainstormed campaign ideas and tested strategies to boost audience growth, helping the team refine posting schedules and experiment with high-quality, engaging formats. This experience helped to strengthened my skills in video editing, social media storytelling, and creative digital communication and gave me some hands-on exposure to the challenges of building an innovative media brand.
